Day 9 of Eco Design

"Don't ask what the land can do for you, find what you can do for the land."

Today we had a lecture about permaculture, which I have mentioned before. Permaculture, the word literally comes from permanent agriculture. The idea extents far beyond agriculture to meshing the cycles of nature with the disconnected cycles of humans. It creates convience, simplicity, cycles and efficiency. I plan to write more about the connections of permaculture.

As well I wanted to add some of my favorite photos from a nature hike today given by the Reserve Director. The spider is a wolf spider we found in a shoe, left by a construction worker. The plant growing off the tree is a epiphyte, numerous and fascinating in this area. The rock with red writing was found in the archeological site and marks different pieces. The others are also typical in this area and very interesting.
